On the Crisis of a Country

Updated: Oct 11, 2022

Many people were alarmed by the events of January 6. The rally. The protesting. The storming of the Capitol. But this country has been thru far worse. In 1812 the Redcoats burned the White House. In 1861 the Confederacy fired on Fort Sumter and the worst period in this country’s history began. The Civil War. In the 1930s we had the Great Depression. In the 1960s the country was roiling because of Race and Vietnam. Then there was 9/11 and the War on Terror.

The United States of America will go on. But this is a mysterious period for the citizens of this country. Some people think Trump is righteously fighting on, executing a plan years in the making. Others think he is a one-term President who is about to go away. Whatever side of the aisle you find yourself, you have to admit one thing:

You have no idea where all this is going.

I believe history will look over this short period with a microscope. Little is certain in these times. Though, one thing is for sure, We Live in Wild Times.
